What we do with the little information we collect, in plain language.
Ecovillage Madeira is a project run by Mark and Catherine. It is a brand, not a registered company, so we are the people responsible for your data. You can reach us at contact@ecovillagemadeira.com.
Only what you type into one of our sign-up forms: your name and your email address. If you email us, we keep your message and our reply.
To send you updates about Ecovillage Madeira and the Santana project, and to get in touch with people who are interested in the community. We do this because you asked us to: it is based on your consent. Signing up does not commit you to anything and does not secure a plot.
We use ActiveCampaign to store the list and send our emails. Your name and email are sent to them when you submit a form. ActiveCampaign is based in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the European Union; they describe the safeguards they use in their own privacy policy.
Our website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it records technical details of visits, such as your IP address, in its server logs. Cloudflare is based in the United States, so this data may be processed outside the European Union; they describe the safeguards they use in their own privacy policy.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Its fonts, images and videos all come from its own server. Links to YouTube and Spotify take you to their sites, which have their own policies.
Some journal entries include a YouTube video. It is not loaded until you press play; only then does your browser contact YouTube, which may set its own cookies and has its own privacy policy.
Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
You can ask us at any time to:
You can also withdraw your consent whenever you like, without giving a reason. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to a data protection authority. In Portugal that is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt); you can also contact the authority in your own country.
If something changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
